Who Are We
Young Pugliesi

Currently the Federation reaches directly approximately 2000 families of Italian (mostly Pugliesi) descent in the New York metropolitan area.

The Federation is registered in the Albo Regionale delle Associazioni e Federazioni dei Pugliesi all'Estero , the list of organizations officially recognized by the government of Regione Puglia in Italy. We have very close ties both with the local, state and federal government in New York, and with the central and regional government in Italy. We regularly cooperate with these institutions to organize meetings and conventions, for cultural and educational activities, especially for young adults. We offer our support to entrepreneurs wishing to connect with their counterparts on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. The Federation, directly or indirectly (through its member organizations), also fosters social events and religious gatherings.

OUR MISSION

The Federation aims to foster the establishment and growth of relations between Pugliesi in the New York Metropolitan Area, the United States and the world.

One of the main goals of the Federation is that of improving and fostering the knowledge of Pugliesi traditions, language and culture, together with the study of the Italian language and history.

The Federation seeks to disseminate information through the media, the arts, and literature concerning Pugliesi and Italian subjects, for the education of its members and the general public.

The Federation encourages a broader and deeper understanding of the USA on the part of Pugliesi in Italy and of Puglia on the part of the U.S.A.

The Federation promotes the intellectual growth of its members, as well as their interest in civil, social, educational and political affairs.

The Federation acts as a liaison between the Pugliesi in Italy and the government of Regione Puglia, and the metropolitan area of New York, its government agencies, groups, and institutions, solely for charitable and educational purposes, as described in the Not for Profit Corporation Law.
